THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS, SOUTHWEST INDIANA, WESTERN KENTUCKY, AND SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT


WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE
REGION TODAY AND LASTING UNTIL TONIGHT FOR AREAS MAINLY EAST OF THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER.

PERSISTENT RAINFALL OF AN INCH TO AN INCH AND A HALF IS EXPECTED
THROUGH TONIGHT OVER WESTERN KENTUCKY. WHILE THE HEAVY RAINS ARE NOT
EXPECTED TO RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING...SOME FLOODING OF LOW-LYING
AND POORLY DRAINED AREAS...AS WELL AS CLOGGED DRAINAGE SYSTEMS IS
POSSIBLE TODAY AND TONIGHT. THE ADDITIONAL RAINS WILL ALSO LEAD TO
SIGNIFICANT RISES ON ALREADY SWOLLEN CREEKS AND RIVERS ACROSS THE
REGION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

MORE THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT.
WIDESPREAD RAIN AND A SMALL CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED
SUNDAY. LIGHTNING AND HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE THE PRIMARY CONCERNS
...AND ANOTHER INCH OR MORE OF RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE OVER THE
WEEKEND. WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHWEST INDIANA ARE THE MORE
FAVORABLE AREAS FOR THE HEAVIEST WEEKEND RAINFALL. THIS WILL FURTHER
AGGRAVATE ALREADY SWOLEN CREEKS AND STREAMS ACROSS THE REGION.

SPOTTERS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO REPORT ANY FLOODING ALONG WITH HEAVY
RAINFALL REPORTS TODAY, TONIGHT AND AGAIN OVER THE WEEKEND.
